I've just had

some bad news!! My brother in Adelaide has had what they think is a massive heart attack. He is on life support in Adelaide hospital, and possibly not expected to surive. My sister in Townsville phoned me and we are trying to get flights across to Adelaide, I think she will have to come to Sydney to connect, if so, we should be able to get the same flight, as we did several years ago when we went to Perth for our Mums memorial. I'll let you know what occurs

Also hope you and your sister can get a flight over to Adelaide soon.

Thanks mallee, we weren't close, but it's still a shock, as he is a very fit and healthy bloke, and he is still my brother. He just turned 64 on Saturday,

Thats so sad. Im sorry and hope he will be fine. I lost an aunty a few weeks ago to a heart attack. Its sad.

Thanks beckyboo and davshez, I've just booked a flight to Adelaide for first thing Wednesday morning, and my sister is booking hers from Townsville direct, which is good, so we will meet up there, and a friend is picking us up from the airport

kitty I'm so sorry to here about your brother and hope they can do something to help him,I will be praying for him kitty,Even if you weren't close,like you said he is your brother.

Thank you farmer, I hope they can do something too. If he surv ives, I don't know how he will cope on his own, as he's not married, and not one for doctors or anything.I guess it will depend on what damage has been done by the heart attack

That is indeed bad news kitty, and for once in my life I am speechless

Oh bugger it, what I meant to say in my trite little sentence, was that times of grief over a lost family member create a gaping hole right where you figure your soul must reside. And that is a gut wrenching feeling which can only be made better by cherished memories. And while you cherish the memories of your brother he will always be with you, just as my father is always with me.
