Seamonkeys

When I was 9, my mom bought me some seamonkeys in the mail. I followed the instructions carefully and about a week in I started to see little creatures swimming around in the tank. When your nine years old, and you can magically and effortlessly bring life into existence...it's simply mind blowing.

A few days after I started to just barely see them with my naked eye, my big brother knocked the tank over and they spilled all over the floor. He caused the destruction of an entire perfectly balanced ecosystem I had carefully engineered. He brought my creations to extinction.

JR, I've never gotten over it. I'm 46 years old and I've never gotten over it!

God doesn't exist, and if he does exist, then he really could care less. I thought about each and every one of those seamonkey's lives. I saw them as beautiful and unique individuals. I loved them deeply. I fed them every day according to the instructions. I made sure their temperature was perfect. I talked to them and made sure they knew I loved them.

when i was 19 i got some seamonkeys for a laugh then i got right into them watching them change each day untill my then 1 yr old knocked them down the sink
